Housed in the Shindagha heritage district in Dubai, the new Saruq Al Hadid museum explores the extraordinary story of the archeological finds of an ancient iron age factory deep in the Rub Al Khali desert.
In partnership with interpretation specialist, Barker Langham, we created a new journey to immerse the visitors in the amazing treasures still being unearthed at Saruq Al Hadid. The experience begins with two fully immersive automated environments, the first explores the discovery of the site, while the second examines the mysterious objects and unanswered questions posed by the archeologists. Visitors are then invited to explore the galleries beyond filled with artefacts displayed in showcases and supported with dynamic multimedia along the journey.
From walking through the doors of a fairly derelict building, to polishing the final showcase was an astonishing 5 month period... the most intense and fastest museum project I have ever completed. But only possible with an amazing team who were all enchanted with the remarkable discoveries and their story.
