The 2013 Season of the Hamdan International Photography Award show was themed around "The Beauty of Light," and celebrated the art of photography and the power of light in capturing the essence of beauty. The award show featured the winners and shortlisted works of talented photographers from around the world, highlighting their unique perspectives and techniques in using light to create stunning images. From breathtaking landscapes to mesmerising portraits, each photograph in this international competition tells a story and captures a moment in time that is sure to leave a lasting impression on all who experience it.
This prestigious event was staged in front of the iconic DIFC Gate, with Pre-function spaces designed around stylish installations of live jazz musicians and vocalists performing in silhouette within projected cubes. On screen, breathtaking still photography was brought to life through animated effects and an epic soundtrack composed by the world renowned Steve Sidwell and the Human Orchestra, beautifully choreographed with lighting and live audio layers.
